Mis/disinformation in Global Health
Media Ecosystems Analysis Group is pleased to host a one-day symposium on mis/disinformation in Global Health taking place July 12, 2022 at the Samberg Conference Center, 50 Memorial Drive, on the MIT campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Misinformation and disinformation have become a major challenge—and a risk—for organizations working to improve health and well-being around the world. At the same time, the field of mis/ disinformation studies has grown in response to both uses and misuses of digital communication tools.
Over the past two years, Media Ecosystems Analysis Group, with the support of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, has been building the Health Discourse Research Initiative (HDRI), a project aimed at establishing a collaboration among leading groups of mis/disinformation researchers to help inform assumptions about how mis/disinformation impacts global health and organizations working in this space.
We hope you will join us to share research findings and insights from HDRI, discuss a range of qualitative and quantitative methods, and to chart new research avenues within the initiative.
We look forward to seeing you in Cambridge on July 12!
